Water Pollution Control Facility Superintendent
The Canton Connecticut Water Pollution Control Authority (WPCA) is looking for a Superintendent to plan, organize and direct activities in the operation, maintenance, repair and upgrade of all WPCF and related infrastructure. The WPCF is a 0.95 MGD advanced treatment facility with a full-time staff of 3 operators. This is a professional position that requires an individual to work with independence and limited supervision. This position also requires a working superintendent and involves a combination of technical expertise regarding utility operation and process equipment combined with practical mechanical ability and management skills.
Applicants must have a minimum of a High School diploma, an Associates Degree or higher in Engineering, Science or Management is preferred. Applicants shall have at least 10 years experience in the wastewater field with 5 years of supervisory experience. The Applicant must be certified by Connecticut DEEP as a Class IV Wastewater Operator or a Class III license and scheduled to take the Class IV exam in 2023. In addition, the Applicant shall hold or be able to obtain within 1 year both NEWEA Grade IV Collection System and Grade I Laboratory Analyst Certifications.
