Canton is a town of approximately 10,000 residents located roughly 10 miles west of Hartford. The median household income is $86,136, and more than half of the town’s adult residents hold a bachelor’s or advanced degree. Most of the town’s children attend Canton Public Schools, which rank near the top consistently in Connecticut educational evaluation testing. The majority of Canton’s residents live in and own single-family homes or condos, but rental housing is available in and near the town.

For a small town, Canton offers residents excellent public services, including a highly active public library, a wide variety of parks and recreation programs, and extensive senior services. The town is minutes away from award-winning hospitals and medical services, and many of its residents attend or work at one of several nearby colleges and universities.
