5/15/2022 - John Joseph Dunne


YOUR SILENT NEIGHBORS, John Joseph Dunne, Plumber & Public Servant

Born in Collinsville, John Joseph Dunne (1890-1953) attended Canton schools.  He ran a plumbing business for 40 years. 

Dunne served on the Canton board of selectmen in 1939 and 1940, and was also on the board of finance.  He was a member of the Ratlum Gun Club, the Canton Democratic Town Committee, the Canton High School Building Committee, and the Lions Club of Unionville. 

Dunne was survived by his wife Anna, a son and a daughter.  He died at his home on Dunne Avenue where the funeral was held followed by a requiem high Mass at St. Patrick’s Church, where he was a member. 

John Joseph Dunne is buried in Calvary Cemetery, Collinsville.
