11/30/2021 - Civil Protection Order

What is the purpose of a civil protection order? 

To protect any person who has been the alleged victim of sexual abuse, sexual assault, or stalking by a respondent that is:

  • not a family member or household member;

  • you have not been in a dating relationship; and

  • there is not another order of protection arising from the same incident in place.

Please take the time to read through this informative brochure from the Office of the Victim Advocate (OVA).
