At its October 11, 2023 regular meeting, the Canton Board of Selectmen took the following actions:

- The Board voted to accept the 2023 Small Town Economic Assistance Grant of $374,485 to partially fund improvements to the sewer treatment plant. A 20% match will be required, to be paid by the Water Pollution Control Authority (WPCA) special revenue fund.  The Board also set a Town Meeting for October 25, 2023, at 7:00pm in Room F at the Canton Community Center to complete the Town's acceptance of the grant.

- The Board took several actions regarding a project to upgrade the HVAC system at the Canton High School Auditorium.  First, the Board transferred $49,000 of ARPA funding to the HVAC High School Auditorium account.  Second, the Board authorized the Board of Education to apply for a grant to partially fund the Auditorium HVAC project.  Third, the Board referred the HVAC project to the Permanent Municipal Building Committee. Finally, the Board authorized the preparation of schematic drawings and specifications for the project.

- The Selectmen transferred $90,000 from undesignated ARPA funds to the Fire Station Generator account to purchase a generator for the new Canton Fire House. 

- The Selectmen awarded Robert Skinner, Chief Administrative Officer, a new employment contract for the period July 7, 2023, to July 6, 2026.
