8/22/21 Update:

A quick safety reminder as we continue to experience this heavy rain and wind…. If you see police or fire yellow tape, cones, flares, or barricades in place, please do not move them or pass through them. These measures are taken to ensure your safety from water and electric hazards. ALL downed wires should be considered live until they are deemed safe by the appropriate utility companies. Any hazardous conditions or concerns can be reported to Canton Dispatch by dialing (860) 693-0221, or by dialing 911 for emergencies. This post will continue to be updated accordingly with locations of road closures and hazardous conditions (see list below).

STAY SAFE!

CURRENT ROAD CLOSURES

HAZARDOUS CONDITIONS

8/20/21 Update:

Strong winds and heavy rain are forecast for Sunday Night (August 22) and continuing into Monday (August 23). There are power outage concerns that may result from this weather.
Eversource has indicated that restoration could take between 2 - 6 days. As such, The Town of Canton encourages all residents to take steps NOW to prepare. Please read through and review the lists for sheltering in place and Town's Emergency Shelter (if needed).
