Notice is hereby given to the electors of the Town of Canton and those qualified taxpayers lawfully entitled to vote in Canton Town Meetings pursuant to Section 7-6 of the Connecticut General Statutes that a Special Town Meeting will be commenced on Wednesday, December 12, 2018, at 7:00 PM in Room F located at the Canton Public Library & Community Center, 40 Dyer Avenue, Canton, Connecticut, to consider and take action on the following questions:

1. Shall the Town of Canton approve eliminating the two full-time positions of Building Technician and Land Use Coordinator and create a new full-time position of Community Development Coordinator; part-time position of Fire/EMS Department Administrative Assistant and add two hours a week to the part-time Building Official position?

2. Shall the Town of Canton eliminate the full-time position of Assessment Technician and increase the Assessor position to full-time and add six hours per week to the part-time Tax Clerk position?
