Historical use of Canton land for farming
is the focus of a hike of the Land Trust's
Barbour Woods Trail
Sun. Dec. 10 at 1:30 p.m.
Hike leader Nate Cantwell will discuss the history of the several former farms that you will traverse.
This is a moderately difficult, 1.5 hour hike. Wear sturdy walking shoes, and please leave dogs at home. In case of bad weather, check the Land Trust website.
This is a U-shaped hike. At the end, hikers will be driven back to the starting point.
Directions: The hike will start at the Capen cabin parking lot on Breezy Hill Road. Take Barbourtown Road north to Breezy Hill Road. Bear left onto Breezy Hill Road. Proceed to the top of the hill where the pavement ends and park there.
