REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS TYPE III, CLASS I AMBULANCE
RESPONSES DUE: May 7, 2021, 12:00pm - noon
MANDATORY PRE-BID CONFERENCE: April 20, 2021 at 9:00am
The purpose/intent of these specifications is to cover the furnishing and delivery to the Town of Canton Fire & EMS Department (hereinafter-called "Purchaser") a new complete Type I, Class I Ambulance equipped as hereinafter specified. To obtain the best results and the most acceptable emergency medical vehicle, these specifications cover minimum requirements as to the type of construction, finish, and tests to which the ambulance must conform, together with certain details as to equipment and appliances to be furnished. Where the specifications require brand names, they have been chosen and specified because of their reliability, availability, and availability of replacement parts on a local basis. Since components specified by brand name, model number, dimension size or capacity are readily available to all Manufacturers and/or bidders, substitutes or alternates claimed to be equal may not be accepted by the Purchaser. Minor details of construction and materials, where not otherwise specified, are left to the discretion of the contractor, who shall be solely responsible for the design and construction of the ambulance. The specification is based upon compliance to minimum standards as outlined in the Federal Ambulance Specifications, KKK-A-1822F and dated as of August 1 2007. Bidder shall be KKK-A-1822F Change Notice 8 compliant to meet SAE J3026 - Ambulance Patient Compartment Seating Integrity and Occupant Restraint Standards, and SAE J3027 - Ambulance Litter Integrity, Retention, and Patient Restraint Standards. Bidder shall further comply with KKK-A-1822F Change Notice 9 compliant to meet SAE J3043 - Ambulance Equipment Mounts; Interior Stowage Accommodations; Equipment Mounting Devices: Installed Oxygen cylinder, cardiac monitor, and fire extinguisher mounting devices shall meet the performance requirements of SAE J304.
