Sealed bids addressed to the Town of Canton for the Reroofing and Related Work, Phase II, Cherry Brook Primary School, 4 Barbourtown Road, Canton, CT, will be received by Mr. Robert Skinner, Chief Administrative Officer, Town of Canton, 4 Market Street, Collinsville, CT, no later than 2:00 PM local time on Wednesday, April 19, 2017 at which time they will be publicly opened and read aloud.

To obtain an electronic or paper set of bid documents: An electronic or paper set containing all contract documents may be purchased directly from Advanced Reprographics for $25.00 per set. This is a purchase and is not refundable.

This contract is subject to State set-aside and contract compliance requirements.

As security, each Bid must be accompanied by a Certified Check or Cashier’s Check drawn upon either a State Bank and Trust Company or a National Banking Association, to the order of the Town of Canton, or the Bid must be accompanied by a Bid Bond having as surety thereto, such Surety Company or Companies as are authorized to do business in the State of Connecticut, of an amount not less than 5% of the Bid.

The successful Bidder shall furnish Performance, Labor and Material Payment Bonds, each for 100% of the Contract Sum.

Bidders shall not include Federal Excise or State of Connecticut Sales Tax to which Public Buildings are exempt.

After opening of the Bids, no Bid can be withdrawn for a period of sixty (60) days.

After review of all factors, terms and conditions, including price, the Town of Canton reserves the right to reject any or all Bids, or any part thereof, or waive defects in same, or accept any proposal deemed to be in the best interest of the Town of Canton.

A Pre-Bid Conference will be held on Wednesday, April 5, 2017, at 3:00 PM, at Cherry Brook Primary School, 4 Barbourtown Road, Canton, CT. It is recommended that all Bidders attend.
